This school year we are starting a Good News Club at Shanklin Elementary and need volunteers to help with various needs. The club will meet after school most likely on Wed.afternoon about 3:30-5:00. Please call if you are interested in helping with snacks,prayer team,club volunteer or material prep.

Opportunity at AIG Conference

Dear Friends,

We have another wonderful opportunity to reach out to children in Aug. here at Community Bible Church. Randy & I are planning a program on Aug. 6th from 6:00 till 8:00p.m. for children Kindergarten through 3rd grade. This will be made available to children while their parents are attending the “Answers in Genesis” seminar on Sat. evening.

We are planning to divide the evening up into 4 equal time slots and provide a program that focuses on how God’s creations bring Him glory. We will use Rev. 4:11 as our basis and teach the children about a few of God’s magnificent creations and last but not least discuss how man was created different from the animals and share with children His wonderful plan of salvation for man.

We will have a complementary DVD for anyone who is available to help us that evening. This will be a really fun program for the kids and we hope some of you will be interested in jumping aboard and taking this chance to teach kids and share the love of Christ to visitors’ children as well as our own children here at CBC.

Remember when?

Do you remember when you first came to Community Bible Church and you were so thankful to find a church where sound biblical teaching could be heard week in and week out? Now would you consider how important it is that your kids are safe, having a good time and also hearing good sound biblical teaching while you are away from them? Maybe you would like to help “give back” to the ministry, so to speak, by volunteering to teach or assist in a class for children on Sunday mornings. We presently need teachers and assistants for our 2-year olds at our 9:15 service and would love the opportunity to share the details with you. If you have questions, please feel free to call Randy or Evelyn Owens @ 521-0626 or e-mail us at cbcowens@gmail.com.

Every week we have the privilege of sharing the Gospel with children who may never have an opportunity to hear about Christ again. Come be a missionary to those who are the weakest and most vulnerable.

Don’t forget about the opportunity you would have in greeting visitors every week and the great privilege of being a part of seeing moms and dads come to Christ. That is the best way we can help the next generation. So why not consider giving a helping hand to this ministry today.

p.s. We always find substitutes for our teachers/assistants when they are sick, have sick kids or have to be away so you do not have to worry about that detail.

VBS T-Shirts

Anyone interested in ordering a T-shirt for the CBC VBS program can do so this Wed. night or on Sunday June 8th. The cost is $6 per shirt. Shirts must be prepaid for prior to placing the order. You may also stop by the church office and fill out an order form, attach your payment and leave with Mrs. Laura Caldwell at the front desk.

We have one more position open in our Wed. night summer program for any CBC member who might be interested in co-teaching a group of 2nd and 3rd graders. Children, ages Kindergarten through 6^th grade, are welcome to journey with us through 400 years of world history prior to the birth of Christ. We will look at prophecies fulfilled, ancient world history, enjoy fun science experiments, cooking activities, drama and discover how historical findings confirm the accuracy of God’s Word, the Bible. Some topics we plan to cover include: Malachi: God’s last letter to His people, Plato and Aristotle and the Scientific Method, Alexander the Great, Archimedes and his inventions, Emperor Asoka of India and his influence on Buddhism, The Septuagint, the building of the great wall of China, Hannibal and the Punic Wars, The Han Dynasty and great Chinese inventions, The Maccabeans and the history of Hanukkah, the rise of the Roman Empire.

VBS Help Needed!

Dear CBC Friends,

it is not too late to sign up to help us with this year’s Vacation Bible School program. Please join us on Tuesday evening, May 24th at 7:00 for ice-cream sundaes and root beer floats as we discuss this summer’s program. We will have all information available that evening you will need for the week of VBS June 21-24th. Feel free to call Evelyn @ home 521-0626 with any of your questions. Teens going into 7th grade are welcome to serve as teen helpers. Hope to see you on Tuesday and hope each of you will begin praying now that God will accomplish great things during that week as He brings many children to hear the good news of the gospel. Believing children will also be challenged to come to know the “Authentic Christ” in a more personal way that week

Auditions for VBS Drama

Auditions will be held on Wed. March 30 @ 5:45 in the fellowship hall.

The theme this year for VBS is “Gold Rush: Discovering the Rock of Ages” and the dates are June 21-24, 9 a.m. till noon.

Wanted: Gently used baby/toddler toys and play mats for a new Sunday School class (no soft or stuffed toys please).

A Mother’s Joy Sunday School class will be a very informal class where mothers can feel free to bring their young children to class with them.

It will begin on March 13th at 11AM and will be taught by Gaye Spann and Linda Bachtell. More information coming soon!
